INSULATION

Exceleco Ltd provides loft, cavity, and internal wall insulation for better energy efficiency and lower heating bills.

LOFT INSULATION

Heat loss through the roof can account for approximately 20% to 30% in an uninsulated home. Loft insulation helps reduce this heat loss, keeping your home warmer and lowering your heating bills.

Loft insulation works by creating a barrier between the main part of your home and the loft, using an approved insulating material, much like a blanket.

Other benefits of roof insulation include:

Reduced heating bills

CAVITY WALL INSULATION

If your property was built after 1930, it likely features Cavity Walls. A Cavity Wall consists of two masonry layers (brick or block) with a gap of at least 40mm between them. You can often spot a cavity wall by its brick pattern, known as ‘stretcher bond,’ where the bricks are laid lengthwise. Another indicator is the wall’s thickness, which is typically over 270mm.

Cavity Wall Insulation is installed by drilling holes into the mortar joints of the external wall and injecting bonded polystyrene beads into the cavity. After the cavity is filled, the holes are sealed and colour-matched to the original mortar as closely as possible. All installations come with a 20-year insurance-backed guarantee.

Cavity walls are made up of two walls with a small gap between them, usually around 50mm. Adding insulation to cavity walls improves your energy performance certificate (EPC) rating, saves you up to £150 annually on heating bills, and keeps your home warmer during the colder months.

INTERNAL WALL INSULATION

Internal wall insulation involves adding insulation to the interior surface of external walls, making it a great alternative to external wall insulation. In our view, it’s an ideal option for properties with significant character.

Nearly half of the heat loss in solid-walled properties occurs through the walls. Insulating these walls helps slow the rate of heat loss, keeping your home warmer for longer. Internal wall insulation works by adding an extra layer of insulation to the internal walls, significantly improving the finish and comfort of your property.

Our internal wall insulation is installed by securely fixing and gluing insulated PIR boards to the existing walls inside your property.

While insulating solid walls from the inside can be more expensive than cavity wall insulation, the savings on your heating bills will be much greater in the long run.
